HYBRID PNEUMATIC PUMP FOR VARICOSE VEIN PATIENTS

Department of Biomedical Engineering, MIST has also inaugurated a research project titled ‘Design and Development of a Hybrid Pneumatic Pump for varicose vein Patient’ with the involvement of Final Year Students and experienced Research Assistant Tanvir Hasan underneath the invaluable and exceptionally precious direction, instruction, and supervision of Col. Sayed Mahfuzur Rahman, Head of The Department of Biomedical Engineering, MIST.

Intermittent pneumatic compression (IPC) devices are used to help prevent blood clots in the deep veins of the legs. The devices use cuffs around the legs that fill with air and squeeze your legs. This increases blood flow through the veins of your legs and helps prevent blood clots.
