Inaugural Responsible AI Summit in Bangladesh 2026
The Inaugural Responsible AI Summit in Bangladesh 2026 was held today (18 jan 2026) at MIST under the supervision of CSE Dept, aiming to promote ethical and responsible AI practices. The inauguration was graced by Ms. Sharmeen Soneya Murshid, Honorable Adviser to the Ministry of Women and Children Affairs and the Ministry of Social Welfare. The Commandant MIST - Maj Gen Md Nasim Parvez, BSP, ndc, afwc, psc, served as the Chief Patron of the summit.
The keynote address, “Made Here, Not Imported: Responsible AI in Bangladesh,” was delivered by Dr. Upol Ehsan, Assistant Professor at Northeastern University and Berkman Klein Fellow at Harvard University. Two panel discussions took place, focusing on the roles of academia and industry in advancing Responsible AI in Bangladesh.
The summit also featured student poster presentations and project exhibitions from 12 universities, including MIST, DU, BUET, BRAC University, BUP, and IUT, with awards presented to outstanding posters & projects.
